Pirates

Elizabeth

: Yes, the rum is gone.
Jack Sparrow: Why is the rum gone?
Elizabeth: One, because it is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels. Two, that signal is over a thousand feet high. The entire royal navy is out looking for me. Do you really think that there is even the slightest chance that they won't see it?
Jack Sparrow: But why is the rum gone?

Can I just say, I adore this movie....both of them and cannot wait for the third! I love and enjoyed every minute..some peeps say there was no plot..no plot? Hello....can u say Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom...thats plot enough. But seriously, I thought it had a wonderful plot...pirates, damsel in not too much distress, scary creature with tentacles on his face and his equally scary crew. scary natives and that adorable mutt with the damn keys! And lots of beautiful ocean! It's thumbs up all the way for me baby....and you know how much I love scary things...and quite honestly...pirates and vampires totally turn me on! I find them quite sexy! Go see it!

"And out of the darkness, the Zombie did call
True pain and suffering he brought to them all
Away ran the children to hide in their beds,
for fear that the devil would chop off their heads "

A vampyre kiss

vampirelusArt.jpg

BLACK HEART

Your eyes, black as the night,

Your hunger, so very strong.

I resist you with all my might.

I know what we do is so wrong.

Your eyes pierce my very soul,

Our kiss has sealed my fate.

Your hate has taken it’s toll.

I am aware all too late.

Your lust, seeks my pain,

You own my spirit and soul.

Love left with a bloodstain.

Innocence that you stole.

Love, passion, tis lost,

We loved at the start,

My Valentine, but at what cost?

You and your Blackheart.

~Toto~

I wrote the above poem a few years ago.

He bent his head and kissed her palm. The sudden unexpected sensuality of it took her breath away.

"What is it like?" Ardeth asked.

"Like food," he said, pausing to glance up at her, "or love."

Some meals are sustenance, some feasts of delight." He leaned over to put his lips against her wrist, to run his tongue along her vein. "Some acts of love are mere biology, some a sacrament."

Oh, how we love our vamps!

"Sarah lives in a mortuary.
Her father sells death for a living you see.
She paints her nails black, and she wears it too.
The other kids call her "Vampire freak".
She writes to Anne Rice, each and every week.
I wrote to Stan Rice instead about 'Some Lamb'."

LISTEN TO THEM: THE CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT. WHAT SWEET MUSIC THEY MAKE!” ~Vlad Dracula, “Bram Stoker’s Dracula

v.jpg

Origins

People have believed in vampires for over a thousand years. Stories have circulated for centuries about people drinking blood, souls returning from the dead and people unable to walk in the sunlight. The word "vampire" was probably coined somewhere in the mid-18th century. Several stories were published referencing vampires, but the most famous and relevant of all was

Bram Stoker's Dracula, first published in 1897.

Dracula

invented the vampire rules that, more or less, exist to this day:

A vampire cannot exist in the sunlight. A vampire can change into a wolf or a bat.

A vampire sucks the blood of the living, and doing so turns the living into vampires as well (unless the vampire chooses to kill its victim).

Since the vampire is undead, he is essentially immortal and does not age.

A vampire may not enter a home unless invited. A vampire is afraid of Holy Crosses, Holy Water and garlic.

Finally, a vampire may be killed by the act of driving a wooden stake through its heart.

"The fans, the vampire groupies, love the idea of this androgynous, preternatural figure stalking the night, and craving aesthetic pleasure just as he craves blood, wearing only the best velvet clothes, and savoring red roses." ---Anne Rice

"A vampire lives in a constant state of desire and disgust. His nature often revolts him, but he doesn't have the will to deny his indulgences. There's the killing, but there's also the pleasure, the sensuality, the lust. The sheer ecstasy of it all." ---"Forever Knight - Stranger Than Fiction"

Stoker's thriller succeeded partially because of its intense sexual undercurrent. The vampire's nibbling can easily be interpreted as aggressive sexual behavior, and his female victims experience erotic submission as they relax and give in to his charms. One could also read several levels further, exploring themes of S&M as well as homosexual

Lestat - "Evil is a point of view. God kills indiscriminately, and so shall we.
For no creatures under God are as we are, none so like him as ourselves.
